(empty warehouse style)

This building apparently used to be the home of a dry cleaning company, which
has since vacated the premises. They have also taken with them almost everything
of value, although some of the building is being used for temporary storage.
After dinner one night, Anymouse, Stong, Naos and I headed over to check it
out. Entry was easy and cool, since the UEA guys had already explored the
building and knew exactly how to get back inside.
The entire building had an abandoned feel to it. Some rooms still had power,
but for the most part the building was dark and cold. The second floor was
made of office type spaces, with carpeted floors and blank walls. Some junk
items were scattered around, and I think some of the walls had large holes
gouged in them. Light poured in from the busy street out front, and I could
see an big A&W sign through a window.
Anymouse assured us the upper floor was boring, so we headed down into the
basement. The fantastic, huge, empty, old and cool basement. The basement
was sectioned into three equal rectangular rooms, each about 25x50m, and the
floor of each room was slightly lower than the previous one. The rooms seemed
vast and open, with small pieces of gravel and concrete scattered across the
dirty floors. One room had recently had something large removed from it- the
floor concrete was broken up, and there was a massive hole in the ceiling.
Some small back rooms contained empty shelving, there was a tiny washroom,
and more dark, empty space.
After wandering around for a while, I found a construction light and turned
it on, which allowed for much better photos. I had foolishly left my tripod
in the car, and I lamented my stupidity the entire time.
We took the stairs back up to the ground floor, and checked out a large room
that was being used for storage. There was a large hole ripped in one wall,
and looking inside, I spied a large tank. We all climbed through, and marveled
at the bigness of it, before moving back into the storage room. Skaught and
Poppins arrived and joined us at this point, and we all headed into a back
area. Stong and I went over and looked into the basement through the huge
hole in the floor; I wonder what they removed.
After this, we found a little hallway that joined an abutting house to the
building; possibly where the owners had lived at some point. The house was
tiny and musty, with a pile of doors stacked at the back and small pieces
of garbage scattered inside. In the basement, I found the underside of the
staircase had been scribbled over with words and graffiti bits. I remember
one that said, "Kids cause accidents. Accidents cause kids". Hilarious.
The upper floor was occupied by a couple small bedrooms and one immensely
dirty yet fascinating bathroom. The bathtub was filled with a forgotten substance
or two, but the walls were tiled and the mirror over the sink was intact.
We left after this, and I exited last, making sure to close the door tightly
on my way out.

Vast empty basement, very cool.
More basement.
Reduxzero was stupid enough to leave his tripod behind, and therefore had to shoot all these photos freehand. Blurry shadow portrait.

What? I said, I'm posing for a photo.
