Seven Days in Saskatchewan
Friday
Approximate Distance Travelled: 475km
From Regina to Saskatoon, not by the short route. Had a little adventure at an old institution before flying up the highway in search of something else. We ran out of daylight and decided not to dance around the buffalo in the dark.
What better place to rest and recuperate than a pretty villa high on the hillside? Might require a few renovations to restore the missing staircase, broken chimney, missing windows, and years of water damage.
An incredible find, the secret entrance lead us down into the ground. Feeling the excitment rise, we entered the damp, dark, ancient-looking tunnel. Avoiding dissolving pipe insulation, crossing through tight passages, we traveled underground to a junction. The world was shattered by a piercing siren, and we ran.
Far out in a field, unmarked, we spotted the ancient brick plant in the fading light. Hurredly rushing through the tall grass and weeds, we ventured through the site taking photos of the small, ruined structures. As the sun dropped below the horizon, we drove on.
